Mobilicity takes roaming to new low

Wireless carrier drops data roaming pricing by 70% to offer
best North American travel rates without roaming plan fees

TORONTO, July 25, 2011 /CNW/ - Mobilicity today set a new value standard for traveling with mobile devices - dropping its North American data roaming rates by 70 percent to offer the country's most affordable and competitive everyday roaming rates without the roaming plan fees commonly charged by incumbent carriers.

Today's announcement complements Mobilicity's existing low voice roaming rates and reinforces Mobilicity's position as Canada's smart wireless choice.

Customers can now access data while roaming across Canada and the US for only $1.50 per megabyte - around the same price Big 3 carriers typically charge for a one-minute phone call made in the US. Mobilicity offers the same US roaming experience as Big 3 carriers, with the exception of its service being much more economical.

The carrier already offers an industry-leading flat 20-cent-a-minute roaming rate for North American calls (unlike most carriers, the company does not charge separately for long distance and roaming) made outside its five unlimited coverage areas - making Mobilicity the best wireless deal across North America.

Proven savings - road trip saves over $250 in a week
To demonstrate just how much most Canadians overpay for wireless when they travel - especially south of the border - Mobilicity recently embarked on its "We'll Prove It To You" cross-country tour.

Mobilicity CEO Dave Dobbin is leading the two-week road trip, which stops across Canada and into the US and compares charges for all calls made on a Mobilicity BlackBerry smartphone and a Big 3 BlackBerry. In the first seven days alone, the Mobilicity phone saved over $250.

The tour left Toronto on July 15th and concludes later this week. It is being documented via social media at:
